It is a nickel-iron core electrode used in cold and hot welding of parts made of cast iron, tempered cast iron or spherical (ductile) graphite cast iron, such as machine body and feet, which are subjected to dynamic and strong forces. Since the welding metal has little thermal expansion, it shows low tensile properties after welding. It has higher strength than pure nickel electrodes and is therefore well suited for welding spherical cast irons, temper cast iron, gray cast irons and these cast irons with steel, copper and nickel materials. Arc start and re-ignition are easy. It has a stable arc. Gives smooth weld seam. Weld metal can be processed. Welding process should be done with short passes.
